8 Hours of Spa Motos: Racing teams dominate with Bridgestone tyres

The 8 Hours of Spa Motos saw thrilling performances from Bridgestone supported teams, with YART Yamaha Official, F.C.C. TSR Honda France, and Yoshimura SERT Motul showcasing exceptional skill and resilience. Held at the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, the race was a testament to endurance, strategy, and the unwavering spirit of motorsport.

YART Yamaha Official: A Perfect Execution

The YART Yamaha EWC Official Team delivered a masterclass in endurance racing, securing their second consecutive Spa victory in the FIM Endurance World Championship. Overcoming the challenges from their 24 Heures Motos experience, YART Yamaha executed a flawless race strategy, despite the additional pitstop required due to fuel constraints.

Marvin Fritz, Niccolò Canepa, and Karel Hanika pushed their limits, maintaining an aggressive pace from the start. Fritz reflected on the race, stating, “When we came here for the testing on Thursday, we saw it would be tough because we knew we would need a bit more fuel and one more pitstop in the race than our competitors. For sure in qualifying we were super-fast and to have the new lap record at Spa is amazing. But we knew the race would be tough and our only chance was from the beginning to put the pressure on all the others. Niccolò started amazing and me and Karel continued how Niccolò started and pushed every lap, we had to, but we made it perfect and the team did an amazing job, everyone giving 110 per cent. Everyone deserved this victory.”

The team’s consistent pace and strategic pit stops ensured they remained competitive throughout the race, demonstrating the reliability and performance of their Bridgestone-equipped machine.

F.C.C. TSR Honda France: A Courageous Comeback

F.C.C. TSR Honda France faced significant challenges but showcased remarkable determination to finish fifth. Alan Techer’s impressive recovery from an initial bike issue saw the team leading after the first round of pit stops. However, a crash by Josh Hook through the Campus right-hander necessitated two lengthy pitstops to repair the #5 machine.

Despite these setbacks, Hook and Techer, racing as a duo due to Mike Di Meglio’s pre-race injury, mounted a commendable comeback. Their resilience and teamwork secured a top-five finish, highlighting their never-give-up attitude.

Looking Ahead: Suzuka 8 Hours

The next challenge for our Bridgestone supported teams is the 45th Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race, taking place from July 19-21. This legendary event marks Japan’s round of the FIM Endurance World Championship. Our teams are gearing up for another intense battle, aiming to replicate and surpass their Spa performances.
